2020-03-05 Marta Krenz-Niedbała JC 1 A1 Beyond food: The multiple pathways for inclusion of materials into ancient dental calculus.
Interest in human dental calculus (mineralized dental plaque) has increased sharply in the past few years. The majority of recent research has focused on the retrieval of plant microfossils embedded in its matrix and interpretation of these finds as largely the result of deliberate consumption of plant-derived food. However, dental calculus is in fact a "depositional environment" as material can enter the mouth from a range of sources, including non-dietary ones. The paper shows the human behaviors and activities besides eating that can generate a flux of particles into the human mouth, the broad range of additional cultural and environmental information that can be obtained through the analysis and contextualisation of this material, and the implications of the additional pathways by which material can become embedded in dental calculus.
2020-03-12 Marta Krenz-Niedbała JC 1 A1 The therapeutic role of long non-coding RNAs in human diseases: A focus on the recent insights into autophagy.
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) contribute to the development and progression of many human diseases. Autophagy is a key catabolic process which helps to maintain the cellular homeostasis through the decay of damaged or unwanted proteins and dysfunctional cytoplasmic organelles. The impairment of the autophagy process has been described in numerous diseases. LncRNAs have been shown to have a significant function in the regulation of important biological processes such as autophagy. The relationship between lncRNAs and autophagy has been shown to be involved in the progression and possibly in the prevention of many diseases. Here, recent findings on the regulatory roles of lncRNAs in the cell autophagy pathway, as well as their relevance to different diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cerebral ischemic stroke and cancer are highlighted.
2020-04-16 Magdalena Kosińska Catch-up growth and catch-up fat in children born small for gestational age
Infants born small for gestational age are at increased risk of perinatal morbidity, persistent short stature and metabolic alterations in later life. Approximately 70%-90% of them show catch-up growth. In the presented report, the published literature and the currently popular research area of SGA were reviewed. I would like to create 5 groups and presentation of "groups" subjects [in accordance with rules provided by prof. M. Krenz] assigned to subsequent "reviewers", taking into account posted questions and issues. [Uprzejmie proszę o utworzenie 6 grup i przedstawienie "grupami" zagadnień z uwzględnieniem zamieszczonych pytań przypisanych kolejnym "reviewers".
2020-04-23 Magdalena Kosińska Fetal programming
D. Barker first popularized the concept of fetal origins of adult disease. Since its inception, fetal programming has received considerable attention. According to this hypothesis number of organ structures and associated functions undergo programming during embryonic and fetal life, which determines the set point of physiological and metabolic responses that carry into adulthood. Stimulus at a period of intrauterine development can result in developmental adaptations (structural, physiological and metabolic changes). Presented article provides evidence linking cardiovascular, metabolic and endocrine diseases to fetal undernutrition, an overview of previous studies in this area and current advances in understanding the mechanism and the role of the placenta in fetal programming.

2020-04-30 Magdalena Kosińska Endocrine disorders and female infertility
Female infertility occurs in about 37% of all infertile couples and ovulatory disorders account for more than half of these. The ovaries are in continuous interaction with the other endocrine organs. Please pay attention to the endocrine causes of infertility and skip treatment information and clinical aproaches. Please divide into the 6 groups and present listed causes of infertility.

How the dawn of farming ruined our teeth: Hunter-gatherers had almost no malocclusion and dental crowding, and the condition first became common among the world's earliest farmers some 12,000 years ago in Southwest Asia, according to findings published (04 Feb 2015) in the journal PLOS ONE.
